Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kesiapan kerja (Work Readiness) mahasiswa Perbankan Syariah angkatan 21 UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi dalam menghadapi dunia kerja di sektor perbankan syariah. Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada tantangan kerja yang semakin kompetitif akibat disrupsi teknologi, rendahnya Soft Skill, motivasi kerja, dan efikasi diri mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara semi terstruktur terhadap mahasiswa Perbankan Syariah UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan pengumpulan, reduksi, penyajian, dan verifikasi untuk memperoleh gambaran faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi work readiness mahasiswa di sektor perbankan syariah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesiapan kerja mahasiswa dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal seperti kesadaran diri, keterampilan komunikasi, motivasi, dan kepercayaan diri; serta faktor eksternal seperti dukungan keluarga, lingkungan sosial, dan pengalaman magang. Program magang terbukti cukup membantu mahasiswa memahami dunia kerja, meskipun durasinya yang hanya satu bulan dinilai belum optimal. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa kesiapan kerja mahasiswa masih bersifat parsial dan belum merata, sehingga diperlukan strategi peningkatan kompetensi secara progresif melalui penguatan kurikulum praktis, pelatihan Soft Skill, serta program magang yang lebih intensif. Temuan ini mengimplikasikan pentingnya sinergi antara institusi pendidikan dan dunia industri untuk membekali mahasiswa dengan keterampilan teknis dan non-teknis yang relevan, agar mampu bersaing di pasar kerja perbankan syariah yang dinamis dan berbasis nilai-nilai Islam.
This study aims to analyze the level of Work Readiness of the 21st batch of Islamic Banking students of UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi in facing the world of work in the Islamic banking sector. The background of the study is based on the increasingly competitive work challenges due to technological disruption, low Soft Skills , work motivation, and students' self-efficacy. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with semi-structured interviews with Islamic Banking students from UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of collection, reduction, presentation, and verification to obtain an overview of the factors influencing student work readiness in the Islamic banking sector. The results show that students' Work Readiness is influenced by internal factors such as self-awareness, communication skills , motivation, and self-confidence; as well as external factors such as family support, social environment, and internship experience. The internship program has been proven to be quite helpful for students to understand the world of work, although its duration of only one month is considered not optimal. The conclusion of this study is that students' Work Readiness is still partial and uneven, so a strategy is needed to improve competency progressively through strengthening practical curriculum, Soft SkillsĀ training, and more intensive internship programs. These findings imply the importance of synergy between educational institutions and the industrial world to equip students with relevant technical and non-technical skills , so they can compete in the dynamic and Islamic-based Islamic banking job market.
