PENGARUH QUALITY CONTROL TERHADAP KINERJA MONTIR BENGKEL MOTOR DI RENGASDENGKLOK KARAWANG
Kata Kunci:
Quality Control, Kinerja Montir, Bengkel Kendaraan BermotorAbstrak
This study mainly focuses to analyze the effect of quality control on mechanic performance in motor vehicle repair workshops in Rengasdengklok District, Karawang Regency. A quantitative approach was used with descriptive and verificative designs. The population consisted of 122 mechanics working in 30 repair workshops, with a sample of 94 respondents collected using the Slovin formula and proportionate random sampling. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests, normality tests, Pearson correlation, simple linear regression, the coefficient of determination, and hypothesis testing. The results show that quality control had a mean score of 3.10, while mechanic performance had a mean score of 3.14, with both variables falling into the moderate category. Verificative analysis produced a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.7637, a regression coefficient of 0.7723, and a coefficient of determination of 58.33%. The t-test yielded a value of 11.348 with a significance level of <0.001, stating that quality control has a positive and significant effect on mechanic performance. Results shown that better implementation of standard operating procedures, process inspections, final inspections, nonconformity recording, and corrective actions is associated with improved work quality, completion speed, technical skills, productivity, and work behavior among mechanics. Therefore, strengthening quality control practices is an important effort to improve mechanic performance consistently and sustainably.
