This study aims to analyze in-depth the perceptions of students of the Sharia Accounting Study Program at IAIN Datuk Laksemana Bengkalis regarding their interest in saving and investing in sharia financial instruments. Using a qualitative approach with library research methods, this scientific article critically examines secondary literature from various national and international journal databases to construct a paradigm of student financial behavior. The results of a comprehensive analysis indicate that student perceptions function as the main cognitive filter that is consistently shaped by the accumulation of academic knowledge, level of religiosity, and social references. A deep understanding of the essence of the prohibition of usury, gharar, and maysir, as well as mastery of the mechanisms of muamalah contracts such as mudharabah, musyarakah, and wadiah, successfully shifts doubts into empirical confidence in utilizing sharia banking products. In line with the Theory of Planned Behavior framework, the integration of the sharia accounting curriculum has been proven to significantly increase the financial literacy index, although the aspect of skepticism towards institutional sharia compliance remains an external challenge. Furthermore, the encouragement of the campus social environment and the acceleration of financial technology (fintech) officially verified by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) have played a revolutionary role in breaking down barriers to entry for novice investors. This study concludes that financial interest among young academics is a series of rational, cognitively measured, planned decisions, not simply a momentary, impulsive affective response.
